The 35M Human Intelligence Collector is currently a critical MOS, currently offering up to  $40,000 cash as an enlistment bonus.

35M Job Description

The Human Intelligence Collector commonly referred to as HUMINT, provide Army leaders with vital information about enemy forces, dispositions, plans, tactics, strengths, and weaknesses, as well as detailed information about the battlefield.

HUMINT Collectors, conduct screenings, interrogations, and debriefings of civilians on the battlefield, prisoners of war and detainees to collect information. 35M’s are primarily responsible for supervising and conducting information collection missions; to triage and exploit captured or confiscated documents and media.

Primary Duties Include:

  • Question human intelligence sources and screen documents
  • Debrief and interrogate civilians, prisoner of wars and persons of interest
  • Participate in intelligence gathering operations
  • Draft intelligence reports

Training Requirements For 35M Human Intelligence Collector

Job Training for 35M consists of 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 18 weeks and three days of Advanced Individual Training.

Advanced Training is currently conducted at Ft Huachuca, AZ.

35M requires a minimum 36-month enlistment, plus training.

Skilled Linguist are able to receive a foreign language proficiency additional Pay up to $300-$400 a month per language ($1,000 max)

MOS Qualifications For 35M

ASVAB Score:  31+ AFQT, 91 ST Line Score

Age: Must be between 17-35

Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen, with valid Passport, Birth Certificate or Naturalization Certificate.

Education: Must be a high school graduate or higher

DLAB: Not required for Soldiers enlisting into this MOS

Security Clearance: TOP SECRET/SCI access eligible

  • No charges above minor traffic (exception to policy possible, depends on charges).
  • Must not have a significant amount of personal debt.
  • Never been a member of the peace corps.

Vision: Normal, ETPs authorized for individuals with Red/Green vision.

Physical Demands Rating: Medium

Additional Notes: Demonstrates a clear enunciation and comprehension of English and good standard English grammar skills. Applicants who are not native-born citizens or who have not attended U.S. schools since the age of 6, must obtain a minimum score of 80 in reading and listening on the English Comprehension Level Test (ECLT) or American Course Language Placement Test (ACLPT). The Executive Agent for English is the Defense Language Institute English Language Center (DLIELC)

Skilled Linguists are eligible to receive to foreign language proficiency pay, between $300 and $500 per month.

35M ACASP Progam

The Army remains in critical need of Soldiers with certain language capabilities. The 35P ACASP, skilled linguist enlistment option is available for both Regular Army and Army Reserve applicants. This program offers eligible applicants in all areas of the command, that are proficient in certain foreign languages, the opportunity to obtain large monetary incentives and accelerated
promotion to Specialist.

35M ACASP applicants do not need to attend language training at DLI. DLAB or OPI is not required.
